Jacomex puts its ears where its mouth is, our system regulates the inner pressure of the glovebox through its gas purifier and a mechanical and silent valve. The only reason we need a vacuum pump for is the antechambers uses, also meaning way less and tear wear on these systems.

Operation principles

Purified Glovebox Operation Principles

Inert atmosphere in a glovebox is in most instance consisting of Argon (Ar), Nitrogen (N2) or Helium (He) gas, that requires to be Oxygen (O2) and Moisture (H2O) free (less than 1ppm of O2 and les than 1ppm of H2O).

To reach and maintain these purity values, a set of quality requirements, and technological solutions are implemented:

From a quality standpoint, the glovebox has a controlled leak-tightness (preferably ISO 10648-2 class 1)
From a technical solution view, the glovebox enclosure is connected to a gas purifier that circulates the glovebox’s gas through O2 and H2O absorption reactors in a closed loop.
To monitore and control the atmosphere purity within the glovebox enclosure, Jacomex uses OEM and top brand sensors, particularly sensitive to trace concentrations
In case of Solvents being used in the glovebox, which tend to react, and potentially damage the purification reactor beds, Solvent trapping solutions are installed in the gas circulation circuit before the Solvent vapors reach the analyzers or the gas purifier reactors, thus protecting the installation from premature wear and replacement of the beds.
